(about time I do something with more than ONE character, and with an actual background. Pfft.)
Gzael spends a lot of time researching and translating the Mhien language. Anyone can identify this language, but few really understand it, and Gzael's trying to integrate it into common knowledge. The young man with the drink (it's a hot day) is Vikt, the benelovent servant-leader. His status is shown by the red "collar"and stripe. openCanvas painting over a really ugly Photoshop/pen. I mean REALLY ugly.
